Background Info

Mom was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of the head of the pancreas last Friday after a CT scan, an ERCP with stents, and an EUS with biopsies. (And that was just for diagnosis! Whew!)

Well, she went with my dad, Richard, this morning to meet with her surgeon and everything is set for surgery at noon on this Wednesday, March 18. This surgery, called a Whipple is a pretty big deal, and will take approximately 5 hours. Then she'll be in the hospital for a week to 10 days if there are no complications.

We're all confident, and Mom is in great spirits.

Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers- especially Wednesday at noon!
